I went to visit my friend Lilly who lives on Long Beach and actually has a view that is not prepetually obstructed by other buildings. It was a little disorienting to look out the windows and see nothing but white sand and ocean. I had arrived a bit before the other guests so we went down to the sunny beach in our clothes, not having changed into swimsuits yet, and  waded partially in. On my way to her house I had stopped for a Starbucks tea, and so, there we stood in the ocean, me sipping Starbucks and Lilly scrolling through her Blackberry. She eventually cracked up, "We are such City Girls!" It really is true, you can take the girl out of Manhattan but . . .you know. I am proud to say that I did put my bikini on and charge into the ocean later armed with her husband Don's boogie board to get pummeled by a few huge waves before getting the hang of it. The lifegaurds kept yelling at me for going too far out to sea. Conformists!

In other news, the new iPhone is out and I hear Apple is already hard at work developing a newer model to make it obsolete:-)
